Inspiring girls with the highest ideals The Girl Scouts provides many programs for young girls, ages 5 to 17, with the purpose of inspiring them with the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism and service that they may become happy and resourceful citizens. There are four national program emphases, developing self-potential, relating to others, developing values and contributing to society.
