Financial Coaching for Women

You can reserve a space now for the October, 2010 class session.

Money is not a simple issue and there is not a simple solution if you are struggling with how to manage it. It takes time to understand its principles and encouragement to change our behavior and relationship with it.

The United Way of Henry County and Martinsville is committed to helping our community become one that is Money Wise. In doing so, we can break the cycle of poverty and provide people with the option to become financially stable. We are offering this program to any woman who is ready to take charge of her financial future once.

Who: Class is open to any woman in Henry County and Martinsville who wants to take charge of her money, life and future.

What: Series of six workshops which incorporate interactive learning, a safe positive environment for discussion, and a road map for success. This program is new and innovative. It looks into where we learned about money, why we spend the way we do, how to change spending patterns and use our income to get what we want out of life. The program is six, 2-hr workshops and approximately 2 hours of homework per week.

When: The program is a series of six workshops which are offered together. We ask that you commit to all six workshops. The classes are from 6-8 pm once a week.

Classes will be held locally. The program incorporates a workbook which will be provided free at the first class. Instructors are Certified Financial Social Workers and volunteer their time out of dedication to the program and our community.

Incentive for participation: Meals will be provided and childcare and transportation, if needed. In addition, participants who complete all six workshops and workbook exercises will receive a $50 gift card to WalMart.

Cost: There is no cost to participants.

Program is limited to 25 participants.
