About the Women's Leadership Initiative
The United Way's Women's Leadership Initiative was created to harness the power of women to effect change in their personal lives, their professional lives, and in their communities. The Initiatve pursues goals in the community that effect positive change specifically for women and girls.
The Women's Leadership Initiative provides the opportunity to meet and work with a dynamic group of women with varied backgrounds, each dedicated and talented in their respective fields. Individually, Women's Leadership Network members use their own unique skills and talents to serve Martinsville and Henry County while collectively being a part of a larger support network of like-minded women who share common goals.
The Women's Leadership Initiative provides unprecedented networking and career building opportunities. WLI participants are asked to share their professional experience and expertise with women from the community to promote women's interests in the workplace.

The Women's Leadership Initiative effects positive, systematic change by raising awareness and funds to assist local women and girls in reaching their potential. Money raised � and volunteers hours donated - through the generosity of Women's Leadership Initiative members is specifically targeted to help women and girls in Martinsville and Henry County succeed.
